What is SEO?

Today, we will discuss the very basic SEO. What exactly is SEO? SEO is actually referred to in two ways, as a noun and a verb. Many people call SEO “search engine optimization,” and many people call it “search engine optimizer.” Search engine optimizers are those who optimize search engines, and search engine optimization is the process of optimizing the search engine. We all know what a search engine is; Google, Bing, Baidu—these are search engines. More than a billion searches are done on Google every second. As an SEO Expert, your goal is to find words that our potential customers type and search for in Google. And then if anyone searches by writing those words, it should come to the first page of your website. All it takes is doing what we call search engine optimization. You will become a search engine optimizer when you learn search engine optimization. Many also call it an SEO expert.

Why SEO is Important?

(1) According to a report by Business Research, the SEO industry will record a business growth of 17.something% by 2025. That means an average of 17 percent more client size each year than the previous year, money invested, company spending on the SEO industry growing, and the number of SEO experts growing at the same time. Which is actually a very good sign for the industry. SEO is a very old industry. Although it has been around since the early days of Google, SEO has become a professional industry since 2009-10, more specifically, 2014-15. Earlier it was like some people are doing it and some people are not doing it and some people don’t even know what SEO actually is. Google didn’t say anything; Google didn’t recommend doing SEO. There was no such thing as Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. Google Search Console didn’t have so many options. In short, SEO was not a very organized industry. Since 2015-20 SEO has slowly become a very organized industry. Now, so that SEO experts can work well, Google itself is giving guidelines as well as giving guidelines to SEO experts through various companies like Semrush, brand guidelines, digital marketing institute.

(2) SEO is a remote skill. All skills but not remote skills. What is Remote Skill? Remote skills are skills that you don’t have to go to your company to apply. Where do you do SEO? SEO is what you do on your website in the digital world. That is, your client is in America, and you are in Uganda; it doesn’t matter. As long as you both have internet access and you both understand English. You understand what your client wants, and your client understands what you have to say. As long as this is correct, it is possible to provide SEO services from any part of the world to the other part.

(3) SEO requires more technical knowledge and less creative knowledge. Compares with Facebook marketing. You have a client come in and say I want to do social media marketing. You then have to think about how to give this brand logo when I create the image, what words will be written in which image, what will the offer be like, etc. Which do not have to do in SEO. SEO is a technical thing. We don’t see much use of images in Google’s search results, although Google has image search results, but the primary results are text-relevant. Although there is some creativity at the back end, SEO is essentially a technical matter. So I think SEO is a good industry for those who have less design and color sense.

How Does An SEO Expert Work?

An SEO expert usually has to work on two KPIs. KPI stands for Key Performance Indicator. The first KPI means that each month more keywords than the previous month should come in first on Google. How many keywords are currently on the first page of Google for the company you will be working for, and will need to have more in the future?

The second KPI is organic traffic improvement. That is, every month more organic trusted clients should come to the website than last month. Organic traffic is traffic that doesn’t cost Google any money to get it. And the traffic that comes by paying money to Google. Through ads is called paid traffic.

We will have a lot of talks about the ranking factor in the future. The factors that affect the ranking are called ranking factors. For example, what is the speed of your website? If the loading speed of the website is more than three seconds, then Google will never want to rank your website on the first page. Because your website will give a bad experience to Google users. Because if the loading speed of a website is not good, then the user will blame Google that why Google brought such a slow website in front of me.

There are 200 to 300 ranking factors like your website architecture, how many backlinks your website has, how many times your website has been shared on social media, how many citations the website has, how much content the website has, what kind of headers, what kind of robot.txt file on your site, What is the sitemap like? There are many factors based on which Google gives a secret score to the website, and when that score is better than the website that is on the first page of Google, then Google will place your website on the first page. As an SEO expert, 99 percent of your time will be spent on how to modify your/ your client’s website according to the 200 to 300 ranking factors to make it a little better in Google’s eyes.
